Iris Guatemala

Here is one of the named irises that I got from trade. A tall bearded iris with bluish-white standards and brownish falls. It smells like orange. The color combination is something different. It is calm and soothing.

This one is really different. The coloring was a nice addition and getting it from trade the best. Did you know the color when you traded? When I sent iris to the plant sale, I did not even know what colors I potted up. The buyers would be surprised.

I did not know the color when I traded. The trader sent me half a dozen rhizomes and they all had tags attached to them. I logged it in my plant list and last night I looked and went online to confirm the ID. Newer intro, like in 2005 by Tom Johnson.

I have been growing this variety for a couple years in Phoenix and it is one of the most prolific irises I have ever grown.

This year will be its third in my garden. Today, I cut my irises' dried/yellow leaves and I agree that this iris is a prolific grower. I have a huge clump of it now and it all started in one rhizome.
