First Harvested Lily Seeds

I am excited to share some pics of seeds that I have harvested two days ago. I cross-pollinated L. regale with Trumpet African Queen and an unknown trumpet. Regale is the pod parent.

Some of the pollens came from these flowers and some pollens from a NOID trumpet mixed together.

How interesting. I never thought of collecting seeds from my lilies. I have just shared bulbs.

Ann,
This year, I tried my hand with hybridizing. That is why I am so excited to collect these lily seeds. I will sow them this winter and see what will come out of this cross in two years time.

Maybe you should collect your lily seeds. There are a lot of people who are interested in growing lilies from seeds. Also, you can donate them to NALS for the Seed Exchange.

It will be interesting to see what comes of your crosses. That last picture is quite nice.

Thanks. I have quite a few successful crosses with AF. I am waiting for 4 seedpods to ripen with the Pink perfection x African Queen cross. Also successful with Golden Splendor.
