Virginia Bluebells

After my long absence, I am excited to start the blogging season with my blooming Virginia Bluebells (Mertensia virginica). I am so pleased with their performance this spring. They started out as five little rhizomes bought online three years ago. Here they are now with masses of pink to blue flowers. Happy spring everyone.

Virginia bluebells are one to the truly great spring flowers. I have a fair amount, and I generally let it spread randomly by seed and root. It pops up almost all over now.

Blue flowers are always pretty!
Thanks for the seeds you sent. Some didn't progress beyond germination but the ones that flowered were enjoyed by us.
