Spring Is Here!

My daughter has been singing "Spring is here, spring is here, it's the best time of the year!" she had picked up from one of those kiddie channels. Indeed, spring has arrived in my garden. I had six buttery-yellow crocuses that came up today, my first bloomers this spring.

Spring is my favorite time of year, it signifies growth and renewal.

What a joy to see plants as they come out of the ground!

Dried leaves were taken out of Sedum Stardust to reveal the bunch of little green and yellowish rosette-like sprouts.

Some of my specie tulips Eastern Star.

Anybody knows the ID of these yellow crocuses?

These blooms a little bit early than the other crocus I have in my garden.

Nice color.

Pretty purple stripes.

These crocuses have naturalized well in my garden. I planted them years ago and I don't remember their names now.

I have nothing blooming yet, some daffodills budding on the side of my house. I have lots of yucky black leaves that I can't wait to rake up.

Thanks Eileen for stopping by. The crocus are the early blooming variety and they were planted in a raised bed. I was done raking leaves last fall and I will leave the leaves on my garden bed.

I don't have anything blooming either so I'm grateful that people like you are posting pics of blooms that I can enjoy until mine start showing up in a couple of weeks.

I added some more pics. I made a round to the garden today to see what are growing and took these pics. Hope you enjoy them.

Nice to see some pollinators out there already too. Your crocuses are so pretty!

Thanks Garden Girl. It was fun watching those pollinators flit from one flower to another.

Nothing says spring like Crocuses opened wide to the sun. I think your striped yellow ones are Crocus chrysanthus 'Gypsy Girl' or 'E.P. Bowles.' The plain yellow might be 'Goldilocks.'

Yes, crocuses are the first real sign of spring. Every year I look forward to seeing them come up in my garden.

Thank you for the ID and for stopping by Mr. McGregor's Daughter.
